Aboriginal children in Busselton are hitting the gym at Team CNS MMA thanks to the commitment of two dedicated community members.
Trainer Darryl Chin and Busselton’s Carol-lyn Mills joined forces to give the children an opportunity to train in boxing, one they may not otherwise experience.
Each week the children attend the gym and under the strict discipline of Mr Chin the children are being introduced to the world of boxing.
“It is better than a Play Station,” Mr Chin said.
“We are showing them a different way to get fit, they can socialise and when they all work together it is a great place to be.”
Ms Mills said thanks to Mr Chin the children had an opportunity to experience something they would never get to do.
“It is an opportunity for the children to focus on something they enjoy doing,” she said.
“They also go through strict discipline and learn how to defend themselves if needed.
“They all go through the drills.”
