A beautiful primrose that has its origins with Georgiana Molloy has been gifted to Georgiana Molloy Anglican School.
The yellow primrose came to Historical Association member Judith Murray through local lady Mabel Bell, who wanted to ensure the plant and it’s cultural significance survived for as long as possible.
“From what I understand from Mrs Bell, Georgiana shared the primrose with the owners of Cape Farm, the Curtis family in Eagle Bay, who later passed it onto Mabel’s family, who passed it onto me,” Ms Murray said.
“I believe it is the right time to share it with the school as the plant is currently flowering.”
Deputy Principal Jo Burns was grateful that the school could continue the plant’s journey.
“This is a wonderful piece of history and an important reminder of what Georgiana Molloy accomplished in her life in the South West,” Ms Burns said.
“We are so thankful to Judith for gifting us this beautiful plant.”
