Busselton’s Activ City to Surf all star Merv King handed over the reigns to John Bevans who is Busselton’s all star this year.
The fun run is Activ’s biggest fundraiser and the money raised helps WA people living with a disability learn skills for the workplace and home.
The City to Surf will be held in Busselton on August 13 and the all stars will compete in all five WA events, held at the same location as an Activ Foundation office.
Activ City to Surf project director Etta Palumbo said given the all stars completed the course with a disability it was even more challenging for them.
“We are in the community and part of the community, when you support City to Surf you are actually supporting the Activ Foundation and people in your local community,” she said.
Mr Bevans said he was excited to be an Activ all star and was looking forward joining in all five events and travelling to places he had never been before.
“I haven’t been training I am just going to get in there and do it,” he said.
Mr King said last year he walked four kilometres in five all events and was going to do it all again this year, walking beside Mr Bevans.
