The Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association (MRBTA) announced last week that it will extend a search to appoint a new chief executive officer.
The position, which was vacated in June by outgoing CEO Pip Close, has been filled by interim CEO Steve Harrison while the organisation continues the search.
According to a statement released by the MRBTA on Friday August 4, the selection process will continue given the “critical importance” of the role to the region’s tourism industry.
“The Board is grateful that Steve Harrison has agreed to continue in the role of Interim CEO whilst our search continues and would like to acknowledge his wonderful loyalty and support,” the statement read.
Executive recruitment firm Lester Blades has been retained to continue the search for a new boss for the regional tourism organisation.
Former chief Ms Close departed the organisation to take up the CEO role at Tourism Tropical North Queensland.
