Construction of Busselton’s new sporting complex Barnard Park Pavilion is almost complete and is set to become the home for a number of sporting clubs in Busselton and Dunsborough.

At Wednesday night’s council meeting, City of Busselton councillors will be asked to vote on entering a lease with the Barnard Park Sports Association Inc for five years.

The association consists of the Busselton Margaret River Cricket Association, Busselton Margaret River Junior Cricket Association, Busselton Districts Junior Rugby Club and the Dunsborough Rugby Union Club.

City officers have recommended the association take on the lease for five years to commence on September 30 at a rate of $210 per year (to be increased each year by the consumer price index).

The new building will consist of a function room, kitchen and bar, first aid room, storage, change rooms, umpires room, public toilets and a coach’s box on the top floor.
