The Margaret River Orchid Society is set to bloom at their annual flower show being held at Watershed Winery this weekend.
The theme for this year’s display is The Orchid Farm which will feature gardening props painted by members of the orchid society.
On Friday, judges will be at the winery for the annual orchid competition were members of the gardening group will be in the running to win several prizes for their growing prowess.
The competition has two classes of entry, the first is open to anyone who has attained a certain number of points from previous competitions.
The second competition is open to novices who have not achieved enough points yet or are entering the competition for the first time.
Throughout the show, prize cards will be displayed on winning plants from each class for the public to admire.
Members from the orchid society will also be on hand at the show to answer any questions the public may have on growing the plants.
The show will be open to the public on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm, the cost is $3 for adults and children under 12 years of age are free.
Plants will be for sale on Saturday, members from the orchid society will also host potting display on both days from 11.30am.
Watershed Winery is open for lunch and tastings, and is located on the corner of Darch Road and Bussell Highway five kilometres south of Margaret River.
