Bailey Coshott is celebrating the end of the football season with an amazing 105 goals to his name. Bailey is only 15 years old, but has already been playing football for nine years.
Over the last year, Bailey has been playing for Country’s Football Club and WA State.
“Playing for State was a whole different level to Country’s, it was so hard,” Bailey said.
“It was definitely worth it, I really feel like I am a better player for it.” Bailey attributes his success to a lot of hard work and commitment. I had to be very disciplined. But I love it, it is my passion. I love the challenge every game brings.”
Bailey attended the Country’s awards night on Tuesday, September 12, where he won best and fairest.
The most goals Bailey has ever scored in one game is an incredible 19.
“I’m not sure if that was due to luck or talent, but it was probably a combination of the two.” As for the future, Bailey sees himself playing for the AFL.
“I just want to encourage every young person out there to follow their dreams. It doesn’t matter if you live in the country, you can still follow your passion. Don’t let anything hold you back, just work hard and it will pay off.”
Melissa Coshott, Bailey’s mother is incredibly proud of what he has achieved.
“He is so passionate and so talented. He has come such a long way as a person since playing footy.
“We would all like to thank Country’s football club and the Shire for their generous donations which have allowed Bailey to continue to follow his dream.”
