With the AFL finals series drawing to a conclusion, the summer staple in Australia is cricket, and the Busselton season is about to gear up.
The new Busselton T20 competition will be starting soon, based around a corporate-style bowls competition.
BT20 has a ‘runs for fun’ edge to it - which should see some great cricket played with teams in it to win it - but at the end of the day it is all about fun.
There will be 20 overs per innings, with 11 players per team and two hours of bang crash cricket.
Who will take out the title in the first year? Could it be the Heavy Rollers or Jack of All Trades? Many teams still have to register their team name and spots are open for an additional two teams to join the competition.
Games will start at 5pm and be over by 7pm, so for people who cannot commit to a full day of cricket on the weekend, the BT20 should provide a great opportunity to play.
If you have never played a competitive match before, BT20 will also provide a great entry into cricket, or just play with friends and enjoy a much loved Australian pastime.
If you are interested in joining a team, please get in contact with Michael at Corporate South West on 0459 112 564 or message the competition’s Facebook page BusseltonT20.
