Busselton Water’s ‘Canvas your Culture’ art competition and exhibition opened on Friday September 25 at Railway House (Busselton Visitor Centre).

The exhibition is a showcase of local students’ art inspired by the 2017 National Water Week theme ‘Water – the Heart of our Culture’.

Class groups from seven primary and five high schools across the region worked for four weeks on their masterpieces, with the canvas and an art supplies voucher supplied by Busselton Water.

Busselton Water CEO Chris Elliott said he was thrilled with the incredible effort that each school put into their artworks.

“The calibre of artworks produced by the students is remarkable, with each class investing considerable thought into how best to present their ideas around the National Water Week theme,” Mr Elliott said.

The winner of the ‘Canvas your Culture’ art competition will be decided by popular vote via Busselton Water’s Facebook page.

“I encourage everyone to visit our Facebook page and ‘like’ your favourite artwork. The artwork with the most likes will be declared the winner during National Water Week (October 15-21).”

Voting will close at noon on Thursday, October 12. Visit facebook.com/busseltonwater to view entries from the following schools.
