Kailla Erickson wants fresh representatives for the growing city of Busselton.

Ms Erickson moved to Dunsborough three years ago, she has owned several small businesses, is currently raising two children and working as an education assistant as well as being involved in the P&C.

“I have always been interested in local government and how it runs,” she said.

“When the time to nominate for local council came, I could not pass up the opportunity to possibly be a fresh representative for a growing city of people who are both passionate about where they live and who have progressive ideas.”

Ms Erickson said she wants our region to continue to grow, whilst protecting our environment for our future generations. Ms Erickson believes there is currently a gap between local government and younger people.

“We need a balance of representation in the council and the upcoming election is a great chance to create a diverse progressive council. I want to focus on developing our youth and ensuring they have the educational and sporting facilities to keep them engaged and foster their knowledge and creativity.

“I want to give a voice to young people and young families in the area who are currently not engaged with local government issues.

“This will ensure that decisions affecting the future of this region will be made with equal representation from all members of our community.”
