Busselton Relay for Life committee members are preparing for the 2018 event and are calling on the community to join up.

The Busselton community is encouraged to get involved in the 2018 Relay for Life to help make a difference.

Relay For Life is a 24 hour team event, raising money to better the lives of those living with cancer, and funding valuable research into a cancer-free future.

Since 2014, Relay For Life Busselton has raised more than $250,000.

Busselton Relay for Life committee member Peta Tuck said she would like next year’s Relay for Life to be bigger and better than ever.

“This year we are aiming to add another $55,000 to that total, and would love to have 30 teams registered,” Ms Tuck said.

“We currently have 11 registered so we are well on the way.”

Ms Tuck has been involved in Relay for Life since it started in Busselton.

“I got involved after my family was affected by cancer, I just wanted to raise funds and raise awareness.

“The event itself is such a healing experience, everyone on our committee has been touched by the event in one way or another.”

The Busselton Relay for Life event will be held on April 7/8 2018 at Churchill Park.

Anyone interested in starting a team is encouraged to do so, with teams of up to 17 people accepted.

“Get your work colleges, your friends, your family, your sporting clubs, anyone, together and start a team up.

“We would love to see school, sporting, community, church, workmate, family and friend groups come together to form teams. All ages welcomed.

“We encourage everyone to get involved and make a difference in the fight against cancer.”
