Busselton accounting professional, Angelique Maytham is in the running to take out not just one but two of Australia’s most coveted accounting awards.
Ms Maytham’s self run business, Accelerated Freedom Accounting has been shortlisted as a finalist in two categories, small business adviser of the year and tax and compliance firm of the year.
Ms Maytham has also been shortlisted as a finalist in the senior manager of the year category at the state-based 2017 SMSF and accounting awards hosted by SMSF Adviser, Australia’s top publication for SMSF professionals.
“I am so excited and so humbled, it is great to be recognised,” Ms Maytham said.
Ms Maytham moved to Busselton over ten years ago and started her business in 2010.
“We thought Busselton would be a great place to start a family, the community here is so nice and welcoming, we really believe we will always be here.”
The inaugural SMSF and Accounting Awards will recognise individuals and businesses that are making their mark in SMSF and accounting advice by championing professionalism, quality advice and innovation.
It is the first time the awards have run in just Western Australia.
Founded in 2010, Accelerated Freedom Accounting offers tax, accounting and business advisory services to the Busselton community. It has particularly strong relationships with small businesses and specialises in tax compliance and small business advice.
Manager editor of SMSF and Accounting, Katarina Taurian, said that the winners represented a diverse range of WA’s outstanding accountants.
“Each finalist represent a cross-section of this state’s outstanding professional talent, pointing to an absolute dedication to delivering specialist, unique advice to a burgeoning client base.
“Some top-performing firms and professionals are focused on doing business in their home states and locales, and we are excited to acknowledge the unique excellence and expertise they are bringing to their client base.”
The winners will be announced at a gala dinner at the Crown Perth in Perth on November 30, 2017.
