It has been a two-year long process for West Busselton deputy principal Alan Macgregor to grow his hair for charity.
With so many people he knew having battled or currently being treated for cancer Mr Macgregor wanted to do something to help.
The original intention was to grow his hair and have a bit of laugh before shaving it off for money.
However as he started the process he found out that if he grew it to 35cm the hair could be made into a wig for children who undergo cancer treatment and lose their hair.
Mr Macgregor hopes to raise at least $3000 before he cuts off his hair on December 14, the last of school for the students.
Mr Macgregor has been at West Busselton Primary School for six years and is a volunteer ambulance officer with St John Ambulance and coaches with the Busselton Surf Life Saving Club.
