Hays are proud to be partnered with this ANZ organisation that have experienced exceptional growth over the last two years. They are seeking a self-motivated International Shipping Manager to assist the collaborative team with importing/exporting their furniture from overseas and the distribution throughout ANZ.
Your new role
As the International Shipping Manager for this company, you will be responsible for;
- Co-ordinating with the Planning Team to ensure that suppliers are meeting purchase order booking dates. Measuring and reporting of supplier performance, including DIFOT.
- Managing relationships with Forwarding Agent / Clearing Agent / International Carriers.
- Freight rates and space allocations: Participate in negotiation of space allocations; freight rates / service fees and other charges related to the service providers.
- Freight rates and space allocations: Review and management of allocations and freight rates to ensure ESR is receiving the correct allocated space and freight rates.
- Measuring service providers performance to ensure that ETD dates are being met.
- ETA Management: Logistics tracking information in the system is accurate and up-to-date so that stores and customers have confidence in Estimated Times of Arrival.
- Container Deliveries: Co-ordinating with the warehouse for delivery of available containers.
- Supplier Payments: Ensure that suppliers are paid on time.
- Document Management: Ensuring that all required documents for imports and customs clearance are received on-time.
- Management of export orders to New Zealand.
- Tracking system: Ensure that Buy Sell Move (BSM) is embedded into our processes.
- Forecasting of container volumes for warehouse planning and cash flow management.
- Managing and motivating the team, developing them through coaching and training to improve business performance.
- Setting and review clear objectives and targets for team members using SMART principles and fit with the Culture.
- Conducting formal annual and half year appraisals.

To be successful in this role as the International Shipping Manager you will have;

- Thorough understanding of International Shipping process.
