Power Station Operator

Your new company

You will be working for a leader in the waste to energy sector. They are involved in the design, construction and installation of power generation facilities in Australia and throughout Asia. They make significant investments to technology that support converting organic waste into valuable source of green energy to power our communities. Due to influx of work at their Wollert and Wyndham sites, they are hiring Power Plant Operators/Mechanics to join their innovative and fun team!

Your new role

In your new role as a Mechanical Operator your primary role would operating and maintaining LMS’ power stations, landfill biogas extraction systems and all associated plant and equipment daily. You will be responsible for start-up and shutdown of power station/generator modules, also complete daily readings, data entry, data analysis and reports. Since the plant is operating 24/7 you will be rostered to be on-call after every 4 to 5 weeks. They highly appreciate people coming from the automotive mechanical trade background, who are happy to change their careers and work in the Renewable Energy sector.

What you'll need to succeed

• Mechanical trade qualification is desirable
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of Caterpillar and/or Jenbacher generator sets is desirable
• A team player with great work ethic is must
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Fitness for work to perform the job role safely and competently
• Current Driver’s license (manual) is must
