Job Description & Summary

To solve important problems we need diverse talent. Our people use their creativity, authenticity and human differences to be champions of change. When people from diverse backgrounds, with different points of view, work together, we create incredible value - for our clients, our people and our society. If you don’t think you quite meet all of the qualifications, we’d still love to hear from you.

About Us

Life isn’t simple. The challenges facing us all are complex, chewy and carry real risk. So at PwC, we’ve created ‘The New Equation’, a global strategy to tackle the challenges facing businesses and society. We’re coming together in new, creative ways to blend our experiences and uncover new, unexpected solutions. We focus on building trust, delivering sustained outcomes and helping our clients solve their most important problems.

Today’s challenges need a fresh angle. Your ingenuity, passion and experience, combined with the latest technology, can provide the answers we need. Together, we are a passionate community of solvers coming together in unexpected ways, creating new solutions for a new day.

We’re in the transformation business - for our clients and our people. We're a diverse, ambitious team who hunt for imaginative ways to solve our clients' most important challenges. You'll get to work with the latest technologies, in an environment that empowers you to think differently.

As part of a multidisciplinary network and team, we deliver holistic legal integrated solutions that span deal and transaction services, strategy, consulting, tax, data analytics, forensics and accounting. This means your experience as a lawyer is enhanced by access to other professionals at the top of their game.

We’re reimagining the possible, about what we can do, and how we can do it. And it all adds up to The New Equation.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Associate in our Corporate Advisory Legal practice your impact will be seen by:

  • Providing innovative and commercial solutions to clients’ complex and diverse legal and regulatory challenges in the areas of private M&A, Funds and/or PE

  • Developing your leadership skills to train and inspire the lawyers of the future

  • Demonstrating initiative, self motivation and curiosity, particularly around adopting and adapting to the technological, societal and market changes in the legal and other professional services industries

  • Working in multi-disciplinary teams to provide market leading strategic commercial solutions to your clients

Bring this to life by helping clients to navigate today’s complex legal requirements with a forward-looking edge within their broader business needs. The team also provides a breadth of business and market insight to deliver clients an unparalleled integrated service.

Requirements

You have a background in one or more of the following areas: private M&A, Funds and private equity, ideally with 4-7 years PQE at a top tier commercial law firm. The ideal candidate will have had exposure to financial services/wealth management and funds regulation in Australia. You have exceptional drafting skills, practice area expertise and commercial acumen and you are interested in developing additional expertise in funds management in a transactional environment. You are highly motivated with an interest in leading the development of new ways of delivering commercial legal solutions to clients through the multidisciplinary platform provided by PwC.

Passionate about being at the forefront of change, you’re ready to help our Legal team deliver innovative, commercially aware solutions to our clients’ most challenging business issues.

You’re collaborative and enjoy working in an innovative environment. You’re a problem solver by nature and want to join a firm that values the kind of people who reimagine the possible for their clients and stakeholders. Most importantly, you act with integrity and show care for the people you work with.

Benefits

Working here carries prestige, but that’s not the only benefit. We want you to be at your best here, and we’re focused on helping you do it, your way. Here are some of the ways we create balance between your work life and non-work life.
