Job Summary

Be part of the biggest jobs in town! AECOM Melbourne’s Transport Planning and Advisory team work as a trusted advisor to the State’s most important and influential clients – the Department of Transport, Level Crossing Removal Project, Rail Projects Victoria, Major Road Projects Victoria, V/Line, and more.

We are growing as a result of some exciting new market opportunities, including Geelong Fast Rail, North East Link, and the ongoing Level Crossing Removal program, and are currently looking for experienced Senior-level Transport Planners and Engineers to join our growing team.

The Role

As a Senior-level Transport Planner or Engineer with AECOM you will have the opportunity to:

  • Manage the delivery of exciting transport planning and engineering projects, overseeing junior team members and responding to client expectations, and/or

  • Work as part of a large, multi-disciplinary team on one of Victoria’s major transport infrastructure projects.

To be successful you will:

  • Be technically proficient in your field of strategic network planning, transport engineering or transport modelling (mesoscopic and/or microsimulation)

  • Be responsible for delivering projects to program, budget and quality expectations

  • Have a growing network across the transport industry and be identified as an emerging specialist in your technical discipline

  • Support junior team members in their technical and professional development

  • Establish and maintain internal relationships across AECOM to support our multi-disciplinary approach to delivering work

  • Be committed to delivering the best possible outcomes for our clients.

We have roles for technically-minded transport modellers and strategic thinking network planners.

In joining AECOM you will significantly contribute to the development of high-profile Big Build transport infrastructure projects in Victoria, and others across Australia, be part of a thriving and cohesive team, and provide our clients with innovative and inspiring solutions.

Minimum Requirements

About You

You enjoy working in teams, being accountable for your work, and influencing project performance. You enjoy developing and nurturing relationships within AECOM and across the industry, whether through project work, client initiatives or industry associations. You are positive, looking at challenges as opportunities to innovate, collaborate and grow. You are a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills. You care about delivering the right solution, on time, every time.

Ideally you will have:

  • A degree in Transport Planning, Traffic Engineering, Urban Planning or Civil Engineering

  • 5-10 years of relevant industry experience

  • A developed transportation planning, engineering and/or modelling skillset

  • A proven record of contributing to projects within the transport sector in Australia

  • Demonstrable experience working in successful teams of professionals at all levels
