BUYING glasses at Specsavers will not only improve vision for the wearer, but make a difference to conservation efforts as well. Specsavers Bathurst will be donating a portion of its proceeds from the sale of glasses from now through to the end of August to the Taronga Conservation Society Australia (TCSA).  A variety of other fundraising initiatives are planned over that time, including a ‘Super Saturday’ on July 28 and a raffle, which will see further donations being made to the organisation. TCSA is a not-for-profit organisation that has been responsible for rehabilitating more than 1000 sick and injured animals each year. It also supports vital scientific research and conservation initiatives at its two zoos in Sydney and Dubbo.  Specsavers Bathurst store partner Maddy Carrigan said the majority of her team have grown up in the region and value Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo, as well as the work of TCSA. “They are very excited to band together to support such a great cause,” she said.
