IF you are a water person, looking for a new sport or just into your fitness you are going to love the newest sport to hit Busselton.
Underwater hockey is set to begin next month at the Geographe Leisure Centre.
The game, played on the bottom of the pool with a puck that slides along when flicked by a short wooden bat, is played already in Margaret River, Bunbury, Collie and Perth.
Players wear a snorkel and mask as well as flippers and play as a team to move the puck around the court aiming to get it into their goal.
“This is a fantastic way to keep fit,” Clare Forward from the Margaret River club said.
“It certainly beats swimming laps and is fantastic for the lungs. If you enjoy the water, then this is the sport for you.”
Games in Busselton will be social and it is hoped enough beginner players will be attracted to start a new Busselton club.
So if you want to have fun, come along to the Geographe Leisure Centre at 7pm on a Thursday night throughout January.
Experienced players will be on hand to introduce new players to the game.
Bring your own mask, snorkel and flippers and bring a friend, the more the merrier.
