IT’s almost that time of year again for the race that stops the nation and the annual sell-out BUZ Nurture Works Melbourne Cup lunch event is back with a twist.
“Chill by the Sea” will see the traditional sit-down lunch phased out with the introduction of a new mix and mingle setting of tall tables and comfortable furnishings.
All proceeds raised on the day will go to the local charity’s social and emotional wellness school programs and camps that power hope in children through bully proofing, resiliency, and relationship skill development.
BUZ Nurture Works’ Gabrielle Whirledge said the annual event was a great day out to celebrate the national race.
“Come on down and enjoy the million dollar view for $65,” she said.
“It’s a really fun day by the sea.”
Guests will be treated to a glass of champagne on arrival, canapés, taste plates, an oyster bar, dessert bar and live music by acoustic solo artist Brett Donald.
Sweepstake prizes will include a Southern Skydivers skydive pass, Red Balloon Horse Riding adventures, Rottnest Ferry tickets, wines, pamper packages, gourmet delights, a Retravision iRobot Roomba plus lots more.
The Fusion Jewellers raffle will include other “pick your prize” vouchers and gifts from local businesses.
A Community Cup will also be run where patrons can purchase tickets for a chance to win a 32 inch Retravision high definition television and more.
For the fashionista’s a fashion parade will be held on the day, showcasing the latest spring fashions from Echo Clothing.
Prizes for best dressed and best headwear will be awarded and each guest will take home a Salon Express goodie bag.
