2017 Geographe Bay Race Week| Day one photos

Hundreds of sailors braved wild conditions on Sunday for day one of the 2017 Club Marine Port Geographe Race Week in Busselton.

Wind gusts of 33 knots (61.2 kilometres per hour) lashed the coastline with an average wind speed of 20 knots (36.4km/h) throughout the day.

It is the fifteenth year Race Week has been held in Busselton and this year competitors from Europe and the USA took part.

About 50 yachts are competing across five divisions and will finish racing on Friday at Port Geographe Marina.
