Disappointing results from a traffic operation in Busselton’s central business district could see police conduct more operations in town, said Busselton police officer in charge senior sergeant Jason Van Der Ende.
Last week, South West Traffic conducted a plain clothes operation in the middle of town issuing 30 fines to drivers who had not obeyed the road rules.
One person had their car impounded and another was issued with a vehicle working order.
Twelve people were fined for not wearing a seat belt, 14 people were fined for using their mobile phone while driving and two drivers were caught speeding.
Senior sergeant Van Der Ende said they were quite disappointed with the results.
“Due to the results we will conduct more of these operations,” he said.
