Riding for the Disabled Association Capel is asking for someone to help take care of their more important employees, their horses.
RDA works tirelessly to provide therapeutic, recreational and educational equestrian activities to people living with disabilities and intellectual health challenges.
During the summer holidays from Christmas until early February RDA’s clients take time out from school and classes, meaning the horses also get a well earned break. During this time RDA need somewhere, to send the horses for a holiday.
This will allow the paddocks they are in a chance to recover and get some attention while the horses are not there.
RDA secretary Kate Gough said it was essential they found somewhere for the horses.
“RDA is such a very worthy cause not only for our clients but also for the volunteers. Our horses mean a lot to all of us and it would just be so good to give them a holiday,” she said.
“The hardest part of this is that because our funds are so limited we would ask it it would be possible for the agistment to be donated.”
RDA are searching for somewhere to keep up to ten horses, paddocks would need to be well fenced, have water and plenty of grass.
“We would obviously be responsible ourselves for their daily care etc. They don’t have to all go in the same paddock but at least two together.”
Anyone who believes they can help should contact Kate Gough on 0424 002 435 or Carol Brice (President and Coach) on 0437 441 670.
