In a questionable display of pork-barreling, the electorate of Vasse was wiped off the fact sheet map following last week’s state budget.
According to the state government’s website, electorates worth a mention in the South West were those in Collie-Preston, Bunbury and Albany.
Warren-Blackwood and Vasse looked like the big losers in this year’s state budget.
However, it was not all doom and gloom for the region, the state government did commit to funding the Busselton Margaret River Airport.
The announcement came after months of uncertainty, as the state government conducted a value optimisation review on the project to find any cost-savings.
The government remains hopeful they can still find cost-savings on landside works at the airport.
