Registrations are now open for Term 4 Grasshopper soccer.
Grasshopper soccer is Australia’s number one non-competitive soccer program for girls and boys aged 2 – 12 years.
The club has been operating in the South West now for just over a year to huge success. The club has programs running in Busselton, Margaret River, and Dunsborough.
Owner operators, Sharon and Tee (affectionately known as Coach Tee and Coach Shaz) said the club was all about having fun and learning new skills.
“The best part about Grasshoppers is that it really isn’t just about soccer; it is about skills, co-ordination, and fundamental movement for sure, but it’s also about kids having fun, learning team-work, building confidence and sportsmanship,” Sharon said.
“We are both personal trainers who love to put on a show at our group fitness for adults, keeping it fun, and once we stumbled across Grasshopper Soccer we just saw it as a natural fit for us.
Sharon said the Grasshoppers program was unique to other programs as it was all about fun and immersion; every child has a soccer ball at their feet for the majority of each session, which really gets their skills up quickly, there’s no waiting around to have a go.
“The other great feature is that for kids aged two – four there is parental involvement, which is a great time for kids to spend time with mum or dad, there’s no sitting on the sidelines with us.
“Our games always include tickles for the little ones and they just love that time with their parents. The older kids, well, they just love all the games.
“They love the actual soccer game at the end, but I think they love all the other games like Rob the Nest, Battle Ships and Submarines and Foxes and Rabbits just as much.”
“We are so pleased we found Grasshopper Soccer and you will be too, we have programs running four terms a year in Busselton, Margaret River, and Dunsborough.”
The club is also hosting an after-school care program at Geogriana Molloy Anglican School for Term 4.
