Busselton’s own Ryan Dawson will be making his musical stage debut this October at the Blue Room Theatre in Perth.
Mr Dawson is starring in an exciting Australian musical, Once We Lived Here.
Once We Lived Here centres around Amy, who runs her family’s sheep station ‘Emoh Ruo’, in rural Australia. In the opening song, the characters on stage remind the audience of the old adage that all roads lead to home, and for Mr Dawson, that message rings true, as this show is his debut performance since returning to Perth from his time overseas.
After leaving Busselton at the age of 17, Dawson studied at WAAPA, then Lasalle in Singapore, before an extended stint performing in London’s West End in We Will Rock You. “Home is where my family is,” Mr Dawson said.
“So getting to be back in Perth and doing what I love in what is essentially my home town is awesome.”
Written by the critically acclaimed team of Dean Bryant and Mathew Frank, this full-length musical is an authentically Australian story, with a uniquely Australian sound. All shows will be held at 8.30pm at The Blue Room Theatre, Perth Cultural Centre, Northbridge. For bookings or more information head to blueroom.org.au or call 9227 7005.
