The team from Plate and Barrel have joined forces with Harmans Estate and other local producers in Cowaramup for the inaugural Taste Race.
Teams of two will walk, cycle and taste their way through the region in this Amazing Race style event on Saturday 18th November.
Organiser, Karina Preston, says it is not just any ordinary race, it will be all about discovering local wines, produce and the amazing places in the area.
“We are going to take participants off the beaten track with this event. They will ride through vineyards, gorgeous bush tracks and more to hopefully discover areas they haven’t seen,” she said.
“Of course, along the way they will get to stop and enjoy a variety of wine – including Harmans Estate’s new Pisco, as well as sample a range of yummy local produce.”
The race starts and finishes at Harmans Estate in Metricup and after the 20 kilometre gentle cycle, each team will get to enjoy a gourmet picnic basket and live music.
“You don’t need to be an avid cycler for this event, we promise to be gentle and it will be loads of fun. However, there will be awards for our top three place getting pairs as well as awards for best dressed,” Karina said.
Tickets cost $225 per person, and includes all tastings, food and bike hire.
Places are strictly limited to just 50 people. To book visit plateandbarrel.com.au/eventcalendar/thetasterace
