Australian Olympians and sport superstars were in Busselton on Wednesday to inspire local children to reach for the stars.
The visit was part of the Champions 2 Country 2017 South West regional tour aimed at children in the community to be inspired by high profile athletes.
One of the main objectives was to provide inspiration on issues including healthy lifestyle, leadership, team work, respect, motivation to achieve goals, and to share their sporting experiences.
Olympic gymnast and Australia Ninja Warrior contestant Olivia Vivien said the tour was really important because regional children did not often have access to a lot of opportunities.
Ms Vivien said the group were trying to inspire children to get them motivated and reach for goals which were out there and targets they could aim for.
“Hard work is the key and making use of opportunities when they arise,” she said.
“It is nice to have inspirational role models come out, everyone has an amazing story, hopefully it switches something in even a few children, it makes it worthwhile.
“Australia has such great sporting talent you just need children to be motivated and want to go after it.”
