Around 100 community members joined Busselton’s Walk 4 Brain Cancer on Sunday morning to help raise money for the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation.
The organisation conducts brain cancer research, advocacy and awareness in Australia, with a mission to increase five-year survival from the current 20 per cent to 50 per cent by 2023.
The Busselton walk was organised by resident Nina Nina Concannon who was diagnosed with a tumor four years ago.
Ms Concannon told the Mail last week that finding a cure for brain cancer would be better than winning the lottery.
“When something like this happens money and material things don’t matter – finding a cure would be amazing – and seeing my children grow up would be everything to me.”
Across Australia, Walk 4 Brain Cancer events have raised more than $1.2 million for brain cancer research.
