Volunteers are still needed for the upcoming SunSmart Ironman Western Australia competition.
The world-class event is in its 13th year and will be held on Sunday, December 3.
Busselton Chamber of Commerce & Industry chief executive officer Jo Richards said when it came to volunteers, a little help went along way.
“There are a number of people out there that probably believe you need to be there all day and that is not the case,” she said.
“You can volunteer just for a couple of hours and we can put you together with family and friends.
“There is no age restrictions, its open to young and old – kids love being involved to cheer on the athletes.”
Volunteer positions include assisting Ironman athletes at transition areas, drink stations and the finish line.
Bike and run marshals, who ensure the safety of athletes, pedestrians and volunteers, are also required.
Ms Richards said there were perks to being a volunteer, rather than just a spectator on the sidelines.
“You get a front row seat to the event, you get contact with the amazing athletes and its a really fun day to be part of community,” she said.
“We have a fantastic group of dedicated and die-hard volunteers and we would love more so that they don’t suffer from volunteer fatigue.”
Volunteers will also get to attend a special thank you event and receive Ironman branded merchandise to wear all year round.
Groups of 50 will receive a donation of $1000 and a catering allowance.
Volunteers are needed from Wednesday, November 29 to Monday, December 4.
