Ninety new jobs were created on Wednesday as the new market-style Coles supermarket opened its doors.
The Vasse supermarket was part of an investment by Coles of more than $120 million in Western Australia.
Coles regional manager Mike Scott said the Coles Vasse team was looking forward to serving the community.
“The majority of the new team is made up of people from the local community,” he said.
“They all take great pride in helping out in any shape or form to benefit locals.”
The new store has an extensive fresh produce section, open-style butchery and an in-store bakery.
The store will also feature an extensive range of WA produce from suppliers like Simmo’s Ice Cream.
Coles will also hold free Family Fun Days for the community on Saturday, November 25 and Sunday, November 26.
The fun days will boast a range of activities and entertainment including balloon twisting, face painting and musical acts.
