Coles Busselton has raised more than $4000 for Community Home Care.
Coles Busselton store manager Karla Rees said Coles stores raised money for national charities every month and the Busselton store asked if they could use November to a support local organisation.
“We had a big team meeting to discuss who we would fundraise for,” she said.
“In the end, it was a unanimous vote – they are more than worthy.
“Many of our customers are elderly and have received support from Community Home Care, one of our staff members even benefited from their help.”
Store staff held ‘good, old-fashioned’ fundraising events such as raffles, a sausage sizzle and a cake stall to reach their goal.
Team member Janice Pell sold $861 raffle tickets during one of her shifts.
Community Home Care operations manager Julie Cooper was shocked by the fundraising figure.
“It is a really great effort,” she said.
“All the money stays in the local area and this donation really means a lot as some of our services aren’t government subsidised.”
