The South West is the place to be in the summer holidays, according to holiday rental website Stayz.
Stayz has released its top 15 most booked summer destinations and three of the regions destinations have made the top 10.
Dunsborough placed third with Busselton coming in fourth and Margaret River ninth.
Only Cowes in Victoria and Byron Bay in New South Wales were able to edge out the South West, with number one and two rankings on the list.
Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association chief executive officer Claire Savage said the results highlighted the appeal of the destination and its position as the most visited WA destination outside of Perth.
“We are optimistic about visitor numbers over summer, and these figures certainly reinforce that,” she said.
She said holiday homes were a popular choice for the family market, who were the primary visitor in school holidays.
Wyadup House Yallingup recently won the ‘At One With Nature’ category at the Stayz Holiday Rental Awards.
Manager Janelle Koehler said the results were no surprise to her, as she had received a lot of new guests through Stayz.
“We live in a fabulous destination that ticks all the boxes,” she said.
“It really is a special part of the world and visitors have the unique opportunity to see beaches that aren’t overly populated.
“You can escape the rest of the world here – and not just in summer, we have a lot of people seeking romantic winter getaways too.”
