Conquer Cystic Fibrosis have been presented with a $20,500 cheque from Busselton’s Laundry 43 restaurant.
Laundry 43 hosted a Melbourne Cup Day event at Hyde Park for the volunteer-run charity.
The money will go to research to improve and extend the lives of those with the disease.
Conquer Cystic Fibrosis South West coordinator Taryn Barrett said the success of the event exceeded expectations.
"The team from Laundry 43 injected a whole lot of passion, style and skill into this event,” she said.
"We are so grateful to them and the whole community for supporting our cause in such a big way."
Ms Barrett said the cause was close to the hearts of many in the region, particularly those who have met Busselton advocate Jackie Hodson.
"It's clear that Jackie has been a huge inspiration to so many, she fights a huge battle every day and is an example of just how invisible Cystic Fibrosis is," she said.
