South West artists are being called on to donate their talents in an effort to brighten Broadwater Shopping Village.
Four large walls will act as a blank canvas for creatives to paint murals inspired by the beach, ocean and sea-life.
Broadwater Shopping Village’s Sharon Amour Artists encouraged artists to submit a design proposal for the project.
“We just wanted to give some locals a chance to be a part of it and get the community involved in the shopping centre,” she said.
“We thought it would help some young, budding or upcoming artists to raise their profile and get some exposure because we know that it can be hard for them.”
All supplies for the artwork will be provided.
The murals are part of a campaign to reinvigorate the centre and events such as live music and mini markets are also planned.
Mini markets are set to commence mid-February on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The markets are open to stall holders who hand-craft their goods and locally produce their wares.
