A young Busselton student will have his photography prowess on display at the 2018 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.
Home-schooler Will Demopoulos participated in the Focus Force Blooming Wild Flora Foto Fest.
The workshop program and competition saw close to 200 students from across the region focus on the wildflowers of the South West through the lens.
The project run by Focus Force was an official event of the Blooming Wild Festival.
Will, who was eight at the time of the competition, was the overall best in several of the categories for his age.
He said he was very proud of his achievement.
“Before the classes with Phil, I had never taken photos or learned how,” he said.
“I have six photos that will be on display in Melbourne so I’m going to call all my cousins who live over there so they can see my photos.”
Focus Force project coordinator Phillip Williams said the Kids With Cameras project encouraged children to see the world in a way they hadn’t before.
“Will has a keen eye, and demonstrates enthusiasm and dedication to his task,” he said.
The Kids With Cameras showcase exhibition is being held at Manjimup Art Gallery throughout January.
