Dunsborough Central Shopping Centre will introduce two-hour timed parking to help alleviate customer parking woes and complaints from tenants.
Stocker Preston commercial manager John Reid said it was a nightmare for customers having to drive around to find a car park and with new businesses opening nearby they were pushed to take action.
With other car parks in Dunsborough also having timed parking, Mr Reid said they could not longer keep the car park open all day.
The property managers will hire a parking ranger, who will use modern technology, to monitor car parking and issue fines, and will be able to use discretion in some cases.
Businesses in the shopping centre will be allocated some car parks for their staff, but given not everyone can be looked after, the block next to Peko Peko will be open to staff for all day parking while it remains vacant.
