Construction of a new Western Power depot to service the Vasse region is about to start, improving the efficiency of its operations.
When complete later this year, staff, equipment and vehicles from the Margaret River and Busselton depots will relocate to the site.
South West based construction firm Perkins were awarded the construction contract which will provide a major construction project for the region
The site will feature Western Power’s first live line store that will be temperature controlled and dust free.
Dedicated areas for waste management, refuelling and vehicle cleaning will be setup along with areas for logistics, testing, maintenance, workshops and environmental management.
Western Power cheif executive officer Guy Chalkley said the new depot would allow their crews to respond to incidents in all weather and load and prepare equipment in protected areas.
“By consolidating these depots, Western Power will be able to achieve cost savings and give our employees a safer and modern work facility.”
