Get ready, Queen Street is set to come alive when Spectrum South West hold its first pride event and they would love the community to join the celebration.
Busselton Pride will be held on Saturday, March 24 with a parade from the City of Busselton administration buliding to the Art Geo Complex at 1.30pm.
The festivities will continue with a fair day at Art Geo including family friendly entertainment, stalls and food trucks from 2.30pm to 6.30pm.
Busselton Pride has been a work in progress since July 2016 when Spectrum South West was formed.
Event organiser Susan Shand said the group originally set out to arrange monthly meet ups and events for the LGBT+ community, as there was nothing in the South West region.
“We had a vision of one day creating the first ever Busselton Pride, and we are so excited to be actually having one this year,” she said.
The team are currently looking for businesses to get involved by sponsoring the event and volunteers to help them on the day.
They would also like people to host a float and join in all the fun for the pride parade.
"We want to make the first ever Busselton Pride a memorable event, full of fun and fond memories. This will help build the event year upon year, and make a place in history," she said.
Securing event sponsorship through the City of Busselton community event funding has given Busselton Pride a foot in the door, and the project team is currently working hard behind the scenes to fund the event further.
If you would like to help out with the event, provide sponsorship or would like more information please contact the project team via email busseltonpride@hotmail.com.
