Busselton Nuclear Imaging now boasts the latest in bone densitometry and body composition technology.
A state-of-the-art scanner has been installed and is the most accurate of its kind.
The scanner helps doctors to manage patients with chronic diseases.
The technology is also widely used by exercise physiologists to optimise athletic performance.
Busselton Nuclear Imaging director Pete Tually said the local availability of the scanner would be immensely helpful to seniors in the region, and for those managing chronic disease.
“This is the newest technology in Australia and a major technology upgrade for our patients,” he said.
“It means our patients will be able to drive just a few minutes or a couple of hundred metres rather than to Bunbury and that makes a big difference.”
The scanner is a first for Busselton and is part of the practice’s bulk billing service.
