From celebrity chefs, Michelin stars and running a kitchen at 20 years old, Benjamin Jacob has seen every inch of the hospitality industry.
The talented chef is now looking forward to consolidating that excellence at Aravina Estate to serve up inventive dishes using local produce.
“I’m incredibly excited about developing the restaurant at Aravina and working with local producers down here to create some really innovative dishes on the new Autumn menu,” said Jacob.
Aravina Estate owners Steve and Hayley Tobin are thrilled to welcome Jacob on board and his expertise in the kitchen.
Mr Tobin said Ben’s diverse background and international experience would bring fresh flavours, innovation and new creative concepts from outside the region.
“While staying true to the wonderful reputation that Ben Day helped establish,” he said.
The viticulture enthusiast and masterpiece plate artist combines a touch of flare and exact creativity to his gourmet designs. For 18 years Jacob has honed his skills in all areas of cooking from crafting experimental desserts to award winning modern British and European cuisine.
In 2009 he began working in London for chef Gordon Ramsay at Box Wood Café. He soon moved to Gordon Ramsay at Claridges, where the luxury hotel and Michelin Star restaurant introduced the young chef to mentors in Mark Sargeant and Steve Allen.
Jacob, who is expecting his second child to join wife Megan and daughter Mila in April, said he couldn’t wait to introduce his whole family to life in the South West.
