Dancing Queens, and Kings, put on your white jumpsuits and join Busselton’s Bare Naked Theatre for a magical Fringe show.
ABBAcadabra! tells the story of Harri Snotter, who on her 11th birthday is visited by four strangely dressed Swedish intruders, who inform her she is a witch.
She travels with them back to Svinwartor, their secret school of magic, and learns the mystical power of seventies Europop.
Ingrid Windsor, who plays Agnetha, said the cheerful comedic production would delight music lovers.
“Everyone needs their mood lightened, every generations knows ABBA’s music and this is a great excuse to sing be able to singalong to that music,” she said.
“The story is very funny, you have no idea where it is going, and it is a very different story line to other ABBA shows like Mamma Mia.’
The show is directed by Stephen Lee and features musical direction from Emma-Louise Nisbet.
Windsor said it was exciting for the regions performers to showcase what they do at an event like Fringe.
“There is so much local work in the program this year with local singing groups, Brodi Snook and the acting clubs,” she said.
“It shows you don’t have to go somewhere else, we have talent right here.
“All the actors in our show are fantastic and I think it is going to be a real smash.”
ABBAcadabra! will show at The Weld Theatre from Friday, February 23 to Monday, February 26 at 7.30pm.
Tickets are $20 and available from busseltonfringe.com.au.
