Busselton’s mental health community residential service, Richmond Wellbeing, has celebrated its 10 year anniversary.
An event to commend individuals and families who have used the service and the dedicated employees and volunteers was held on February 19.
Richmond Wellbeing chief executive officer Neil Guard said ten years was a milestone for any mental health service.
“We have a strong history in Western Australia and we are really proud of the amazing work that our employees do every day to support the Busselton community,” he said.
“Our services acknowledge the individual experiences and needs of each person, working with them towards living a valued and fulfilling life.
“We admire the strong connection our clients and employees have with the local community in the South West and we wanted to honour that connection.”
Richmond Wellbeing was founded on the idea that people can and do recover from mental ill health.
In 2007, the organisation recognised the need for a ‘recovery based’ community residential service in the South West and expanded from their longstanding base in Perth.
The service combines accommodation with a mental health recovery program that aims to assist people living with mental ill health take steps toward a living a full life.
