Geographe Bay Yacht Club were proud to host another successful Race Week with more than 45 yachts from all over WA taking part in the event.
It was testing conditions for sailors throughout the regatta, strong winds saw a race abandoned on day one and a small boat capsize on the final day of racing.
On the third day of racing light winds tested wits as the wind shifted in all directions.
The regatta had five fleets compete which saw Stand Aside from the Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club skippered by Conrad Todd take first place in division one.
He was followed by Geographe Bay’s Twist n Shout skippered by Doug Lawler in second position and Mulberry from Hillarys Yacht Club skippered by Mark Pitt in third place.
In division two, EnGarde from Koombana Bay Sailing Club came out on top with Rishi Oregioni as skipper, Exhil-R-8 skippered by Neil Forster from Geographe Bay in second sport followed by Empty Pockets from Koombana Bay Sailing Club skippered by Gill Sowden in third.
The premier cruising division was dominated by metro yachts with Napea skippered by Craig Hansen from the Fremantle Sailing Club in first position.
He was followed by Aida skippered by Rod McGregor from the Royal Perth Yacht Club in second and Touch N Go skippered by Adrian Wilson from Fremantle in third.
Jib and Main saw Tilt skippered by Geoff Salter and Dave Godfrey from Fremantle sail into first spot, followed by Heaven Can Wait skippered by Gary Griffiths from the Royal Perth Yacht Club in second and Lady Liza skippered by Tony Mills in third.
Two multihulls blasted their way around the bay with Sunbird skippered by Neil Giblett in first place followed by Aquater skippered by Geoff Taylor from Fremantle in second.
