National Love Your Pet Day was observed on February 20.
It was quite clear from The Mail’s post that the people of Busselton love their four-legged friends, or as some people call them ‘fur babies’.
The day celebrates the bond between owner and pet, but is really an excuse to shower pets with love and flood social media with cute pictures of their antics.
Just a few days after the National Love Your Pet Day, Busselton’s Wendy Slee spotted a very special pooch and his owner.
Outside IGA was Freckles, a six-year-old sheepdog, who was helping his owner, Rob Guelfi, raise money for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Freckles certainly captured attention of shoppers with his cool hat, sunglasses and his cane basket.
“It was quite a lovely sight to see Freckles and his owner and the love shared between them, to help such a good cause. And of course, quite an innovative and quirky way of capturing attention,” Wendy said.
