The City of Busselton has welcomed Tyson Vincent as its new trainee youth development officer.
It is the fifth year the City has run the 12 month trainee program, which is funded in partnership with Rio Tinto.
Tyson said the traineeship was an opportunity to motivate, influence and inspire young people in Busselton.
“I would love to develop a greater connection to the community, particularly the youth,” he said.
“It is also a great opportunity to develop group skills and further my leadership skills, which will help me in my future career aspirations.
“I am looking forward to working in this new and modern facility in such an exciting role. It’s an experience I will not forget.”
The Cape Naturaliste College graduate said he enjoyed coaching, mentoring and working with youth.
“I’ve attended three Zero2Hero Camps, two as an attendee and one as a youth volunteer,” he said.
“Graduating as a member of the camp alumni, Zero2Hero is an organisation I hope to continue working with in my far and immediate future.”
