Geographe Outriggers will be hosting their annual Jetty Regatta and the State Junior Outrigger Canoe 6 titles on Saturday, March 17. The club is encouraging spectators to come along and find out more about the sport.
Geographe Outriggers are one of the biggest clubs in the state, with nearly 50 members and a very strong junior contingent.
One of their stand-out products is junior member and under 19 Australian crew member Beau Haynes, he recently returned from the National Sprints in Kawana Lake on the Sunshine Coast.
The 16-year-old paddled with the Gold Coast Outriggers and improved his 500 metre performance from his 2017 results. Beau’s Gold Coast crew won two silver medals.
The Jetty Regatta will consist of men’s, women’s and mixed crews racing various distances.
Racing starts from 10am at the Geographe Bay Yacht Club. For more information visit geographeoutriggers.com.
