Last Sunday, April 15 Southern Capes Motorcycle Club hosted the second round of the South West Interclub series, sponsored by Bunbury KTM Suzuki, at its Jindong track.
The track had been prepared perfectly by the club and its committed volunteers in the week leading up to the event, which saw approximately 150 riders from Southern Capes, Collie, Bunbury, Manjimup and Cranbrook motorcycle clubs take to the North Jindong track.
The male and female riders competed in three races across 13 classes involving junior, senior and veteran riders during the day.
The feature race was the Jack Gerrard Memorial shootout in memory of young Jack who was a member of the Southern Capes club
David Birch, representing Bunbury, again took out the five-round and one lap shoot out elimination race, the first rider to go back-to-back, having won this prestigious race in 2017.
Other standout performances included Chelsea Blakers (Bunbury) who was first in the ladies division, followed by Charlie Blee and Amy Smeathers, both representing Manjimup, and Ragan Duffy representing Collie who rode incredibly throughout the day to take out both the junior 125 and 250 classes.
Southern Capes’ next club day will be held on Sunday, May 20, mark the date in your diary.
