The saying goes, a day without laughter is a day wasted, and Busselton Laughter Club facilitator Jacqueline Curwood wholeheartedly agrees.
Ms Curwood has restarted the club at a new venue and is encouraging the community to join in for some therapeutic fun.
She said laughter was the best medicine and a good giggle reduced stress, provided aerobic exercise and released endorphins.
“Laughing really is contagious, it is playful and child-like but not childish,” she said.
“There are so many health benefits and it is something easy you can do anywhere and anytime.
“People at first can find laughter club confronting but I just say fake it until you make it, your brain can’t tell the difference and will release all these positive responses regardless.”
The hour-long sessions will commence on Monday, April 30 at 6.30pm at The People Place.
Classes run by donations, with $10 recommended and $5 for concession.
