One of the country’s most exhilarating and hard-working live bands, The Preatures, have announced their largest national tour, which features two South West dates.
Dunsborough and Bunbury will welcome the Sydney-siders in June on their 40-date Magick Tour.
The four-piece have recently dropped a fresh remix of the fan-favourite ‘Magick’.
The track was a highlight from their second album, 2017’s Girlhood.
Written by front-woman Isabella Manfredi, guitarist-producer Jack Moffitt and Thomas Champion, Magick has been reworked by Moffitt with a renewed focus on Luke Davison’s percussion.
Moffitt said while making ‘Girlhood’, he created several rough mixes for the band to test out.
“I think the mist in it, and the way the drums move around Izzi’s vocals kept us coming back to this version,” he said.
“To me it’s like Magick without posh shoes on.”
The Preatures have had a sensational start to 2018 supporting the Foo Fighters and are currently off on tour with former One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles for his Australian arena shows.
It was The Preatures’ 2013 hit ‘Is This How You Feel?’ which catapulted the group from Sydney’s worst kept secret to Australia’s freshest music export.
Soon enough, they landed on on stages at Glastonbury, Coachella, Bonnaroo and the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show.
It reached number nine on triple j’s Hottest 100 poll, won the coveted Vanda and Young Songwriting Competition, and earned them high praise from fans as diverse as P!nk, Harry Styles and the late Doc Neeson.
Their debut album Blue Planet Eyes received critical acclaim across the globe, and debuted at number four on the ARIA Chart.
The band were nominated for three ARIA Awards in 2015 for Best Live Act, Best Group and Best Rock Album and won GQ’s Band of The Year Award.
The Preatures, with special guest Melbourne singer-songwriter Ali Barter, will play Prince of Wales, Bunbury on June 20 and Dunsborough Tavern on June 21.
